“Music in May”

A summer evening at the castle, an introduction to the history of opera through selected  solo arias, duets and even a quartet; this had the character of an idyll.  It was a kaleidoscope of  music through the ages.

We were introduced to stunning vocal technique, good stage presence, engagement with the audience and perfect accompaniment. It is always a thrill to see performers as they set out on their arduous journey. Furthermore, the next generation of opera goers  were present , in the afternoon as schoolchildren were astonished by the power and wonder of the human musical voice.
