We are delighted that the Amyas Ensemble have accepted our invitation to return to the Music Room, such was their success here in 2023. They are a period instrument group specialising in exuberant performances of historical repertoire. All of the group members are specialists in the historically informed performance, with many leading the way in cutting-edge research into earlier practices. The group are committed to an understanding of history but also to embracing the 21st century and new possibilities for performance spaces and techniques. Similarly, they are passionate both about discovering unknown early sources and also improvisation and composition.

Their programme for us is entitled ‘London Calling!’ and it will feature music from the late 17th-early 18^th century composed in England by both homegrown composers and many of those from across Europe who flocked to the UK during the period and made London the diverse cultural melting pot it became. Not to be missed!
