Described as a “pianist and musician of the highest calibre” and commended for the “electrifying energy” of his piano performance (New York Concert Review), Rupert Egerton-Smith is increasingly in demand as a recitalist and concerto soloist after leaving the corporate world in 2020 to focus on his passion. He is Artist-in-Residence with the Orchestra of St. John’s and was appointed a Steinway Artist in 2025. We are thrilled to welcome him to ‘Music in the Castle’ and his programme for us will include Bach-Busoni Chaconne, Beethoven Sonata No.21 “Waldstein”, Rachmaninov Preludes & Balakirev Islamey.
